I can't remember the last time we went until November 15th without seeing any snow in the Denver area! This past weekend it was balmy as the temperatures continued into the mid 70s. Usually this time of year we've had at least 2-3 snow storms and the weather drops to the 50s. It's been record breaking and it's been super dry! I can't wait for the first snow to kill all the flies, I got bit by one while I was out at the barn.
My ride was wonderful as a result of the beautiful weather. I've been riding Java (see pic), who I'm leasing. She hasn't been ridden much if at all in a couple years and so I am working to get her back in shape. I plan to show her next summer at either second or third level. I need my third level scores to get my USDF Bronze medal!
Java is so super sweet and I've had about 5-6 rides on her so far. She works so hard and has such a fun 'go' button! I love horses like that who are forward and balanced with you not having to do a whole lot but regulate tempo. I can tell that she loves having a job, and each time ends the ride dripping in sweat but could still keep going. She's definitely level headed and I'm excited to work off that big hay belly!
