I hope everyone had a great Holiday season!
Now that it's over I am definitely relieved and ready to start the New Year!
We had about 5 family Christmas events that we attended. Which is a lot! Mark and I were both exhausted by the time the weekend was over.
For New Year's Eve we ended up hosting a party at our house. It turned out to be a lot of fun (especially with a good amount of Champagne!) with 12 of our friends spending it with us.
My best friend, Antoinette, went with me to try out an OTTB to possibly purchase, but I ended up not liking him as my next potential Dressage partner.
Afterwards, we went back to the barn I board at and rode Java, who was fun to ride as always! I have been reintroducing shoulder-ins with her and she has been doing great. I had some really decent ones. I also did some canter work and got some of the nicest canter so far!
Her rhythm has improved a lot, and she was really using her haunches underneath her. Antoinette hasn't been around horses much so it was fun sharing that with her. I had her hop on Java and taught her a few things at the walk. Java was a saint and very patient.
Overall, it was a very fun and eventful weekend. The search for my next horse continues!
